My Work Shop
This is my first lathe. I bought it
when I was 16 years old.  It was 60
years old then.  That makes it about
120 years old now.  I still turn on it.
My bench with a bowl in progress.
My present lathe. I can turn larger
pieces on this lathe.
My work shop is quite small.  It is about the size of
a roomy one car garage.  That is because it is a one
car garage.
I was able to build a new building this
year (2010) It is 24' X 30'.  It is roomy
light and airy.  I think that I have died
and gone to heaven. Donna is glad to
have me and my dust out of the house.
My son, Jimmy, was able to help the day
we set the roof rafters and decked the
roof.  Thanks Jim.  I even have windows
Yours truly trimming rafters. I am not
very good up high any more but found a
lot to do on the ground.
Thanks Kitty for helping keep the site clean.
It seems like she was always sweeping.
Thanks Lenny.  It never would have
gotten done without you
It's almost done.  I missed about a month and
a half of turning between building and
moving, but it was worth it. I'll make it up.
For years, I worked in the dark garage
above.  Now, It scares me when I turn
on the lights. It is so bright
.
I am all moved in now and the lathe is running.  It is great not to have to unplug one
machine in order to plug another in.  I have 4 220V outlets and bunches of 110V outlets.
Donna says the dusting is much decreased.  Even though I was in the basement before, a lot
of dust found it's way up stairs. The extra room and cabinet space is great. I moved from
about 200 square feet to 720 square feet. Next time. I will try to post pictures with all the
tools moved in.
