Christmas ornaments made from Elm and Walnut.  These are
made by a technique called inside out turning.  Four 1 1/2" X
1 1/2" X 6" pieces of elm were lightly glued together to form a
3" X  3" X 6" piece.  This piece is then turned into a design.
The pieces are then split apart and reglued with the turned
shape to the inside.  The ornament is then turned to it's final
shape. The top and bottom spindles are then added.   The open
design is only disclosed during the final turning. These pieces
taught me many lessions about patience.  They must be turned
with very sharp tools and very slowly.  Due to lack of space
they are not signed or dated.
Sold   30.00 each
